subtidal adventures

Subtidal Adventures - More than just a whale tour! We have developed the best all-round summer boat tour , which is available on our fast and fun zodiac, the "Discovery" or, for a more leisurely and relaxing ride, our cabin cruiser, the "Dixie IV". It combines whale watching with a little bear watching and a cruise through the islands of Barkley Sound; including the Broken Group Islands of Pacific Rim National Park. Once home to almost 10,000 First Nations People, the Broken Group Islands has been virtually unchanged for centuries. In addition to our usual sightings of summer resident Gray or Humpback Whales, Sea Lions, Harbour Seals, Bald Eagles and sea birds, we may also see the Orca and maybe a Sea Otter. Advance reservations recommended. Phone 1.250.726.7336 or 1.877.444.1134

Ucluelet Aquarium building

Ucluelet Aquarium - Visitors to the Ucluelet Aquarium can expect an up close and personal encounter with a diversity of local marine life. They provide a stimulating "hands on" learning environment for children of all ages. Visitors can take comfort in knowing that the well being of our display specimens is a primary concern. By the end of your visit you'll agree the aquarium is unlike any other you've visited. For one thing, all of the display specimens were gathered in local waters right outside the aquarium's doorstep. With so many beautiful and interesting creatures to learn about locally, there is simply no need to import species from other regions.
